CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. A CASA is a trained community volunteer appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interest of a child in court. The CASA’s job is to gather as much objective information as possible about a child for the court, so that the judge can make informed decisions.
Since 1989, CASA of Colorado Springs, Inc. has been recruiting, training and supervising volunteers who advocate for children in the 4th Judicial District. CASA’s goal is to insure safety and permanency for children whose lives are in turmoil because of abuse and neglect or because of a conflictual divorce case.
